The Lift Miracle: Saved by Durga’s Grace

This is a real incident that happened in 2017. Sita lives in Delhi and works in an office there. She is a simple, hardworking woman, and a true devotee of Goddess Durga. Every morning, she prays before starting her day, placing her complete trust in Durga Ma.

One evening, after finishing her work late, Sita took the lift to the ground floor. She was tired and just wanted to reach home. The lift began moving down as usual, but suddenly, there was a loud noise. The lift jerked to a stop, and then everything went dark. Sita was trapped between two floors. She pressed the emergency button, but nothing happened. She tried calling someone, but her phone had no signal.

Fear gripped her. She remembered stories she had read about accidents, about people getting stuck for hours, even getting injured. She felt helpless and alone. But in her heart, she held on to one thing—her faith. She closed her eyes tightly, and with all her heart, she prayed, 'Durga Ma, please save me. I know you are here.'

Meanwhile, on the ground floor, there was a technician named Ramesh. He was just about to leave. Suddenly, he thought he heard a soft voice, almost like a whisper. It was strange because there was nobody around. The voice said, 'Check the lift.' At first, Ramesh ignored it, thinking he imagined it. But the voice came again, clearer this time. It said, 'Someone needs help.'

Ramesh felt an urge to go back, as if someone was guiding him. He went to the lift control room and noticed something unusual. The indicator light of the lift Sita was in was flickering, even though it should have been functioning properly. Ramesh decided to check it out. He went to the floor where the lift had stopped and started inspecting it.

As he stood there, trying to understand the problem, he heard a faint cry from inside. 'Help! Please, someone help me!' It was Sita’s voice. Ramesh quickly opened the panel and realized the lift was stuck due to a mechanical failure. He managed to unlock the doors just enough to see Sita. She looked scared, but there was a strange calmness in her eyes, as if she was holding on to something stronger than fear.

'I’ll get you out,' Ramesh assured her. He called for help and got the lift doors open safely. Sita was finally out, shaken but unharmed. She thanked Ramesh, but he couldn’t stop thinking about what happened. He said, 'Madam, I was about to leave, but something made me come back. I heard a voice telling me to check the lift.'

Sita’s eyes filled with tears. She knew what that voice was. 'It was Durga Ma,' she said softly. 'I prayed to her, and she sent you to save me.'

Later, Ramesh found out that the lift had a major defect, and if it had started moving again, it could have caused a serious accident. The repair team said it was a miracle that the lift had stopped when it did.

Sita shared her experience with her family and friends, telling them how Durga Ma listened to her prayers and sent help. Even today, she says, 'It was not just a rescue. It was Durga Ma herself, watching over me. She is always there, like a mother protecting her child.'

Ramesh, too, was left with a newfound belief. He did not understand how or why he heard that voice, but he felt something divine had guided him that night. It reminded everyone who heard this story that faith is not just a feeling. It is a connection. And when you call out to Durga with true devotion, she will come to protect you, even if it means sending a whisper to bring help.
