They don't belong to the same class. When desire for Bhagavan appears, desire for worldly objects starts vanishing. Desire for worldly objects is selfish. Desire for Bhagavan is selfless.
Narada Bhakti Sutra states that when you are in a state of bhakti, you will feel - 1. Highest love for Bhagawan 2. Immortal bliss 3. Perfection 4. Satisfied forever 5. No more needs 6. No more sorrows 7. No hate towards anyone or anything 8. No excitement over anything worldly 9. Exhilarated beyond control 10. Self-absorbed and still in the thoughts of Bhagawan.
