In the vibrant village of Surajpur, everyone respected Pandit Hariprasad, a wise scholar. Each evening, villagers gathered on his verandah to hear his teachings. One sunny afternoon, Pandit Hariprasad spoke about the power of the mantra 'Om.'

'If you chant 'Om' with true faith,' he said, 'you can even perform miracles, like walking on water.'

Among the listeners was a group of milkmaids from the nearby village of Madhavpur, returning from selling buttermilk. Curious but in a hurry, they didn’t stay for the whole speech. They heard about walking on water and decided to try it to save the boat fare.

As they reached the river, they started chanting, 'Om... Om... Om...' To their amazement, they walked across the water effortlessly. The next day, they did it again, their faith in the mantra growing stronger.

Overjoyed by the money they saved, the milkmaids decided to thank Pandit Hariprasad. They invited him to their village and offered to escort him. As they reached the river, Pandit Hariprasad suggested taking a boat, but the milkmaids insisted on walking on water by chanting 'Om.'

The scholar hesitated but tied a rope around his waist, instructing the villagers to pull him back if needed. He stepped onto the water, chanting 'Om,' but his doubt caused him to start sinking. The villagers quickly pulled him to safety.

Kamla, the lead milkmaid, said, 'Panditji, we believed in your words. Perhaps it’s our faith that made the miracle happen.'

Pandit Hariprasad realized that true faith came from the heart, not just words. He thanked the milkmaids for their lesson, understanding that belief, not just knowledge, held real power.

From that day on, the story of the milkmaids and the scholar became a cherished tale in Surajpur, reminding everyone of the strength of genuine faith.

This story teaches us a valuable lesson about the power of faith in the divine. While knowledge and understanding are important, it is our unwavering belief in a higher power that can bring about true miracles. When you place your faith in the divine and trust in its wisdom and guidance, you open yourself to extraordinary possibilities. Always remember that the divine is within and around us, and with sincere faith, even the seemingly impossible can become possible.
