Abhedananda Swami is a very revered disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.

In the Sri Ramakrishna Mission, his stature is next to that of Swami Vivekananda.

His lectures and books on Vedanta clearly establish his deep knowledge about Vedanta.

Abhedananda was highly dedicated to his Guru.

He considered Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa as a divine entity.

The name of Swami Abhedananda in his purvashrama (pre-sanyasa days) was Kaliprasad Chandra.

He was born in Kolkata.

He became a disciple of Sri Ramakrishna when he was 18 and took up sanyasa when he was 20.

He was in charge of the Vedanta Society of New York and lived there for almost 25 years.

Abhedananda was very close to Swami Vivekananda.

In 1921, he founded the Ramakrishna Vedanta Society in Kolkata.

He also published Vishwavani, a Bengali magazine.

Abhedananda Swami has traveled barefoot from Kedarnath to Rameshwaram visiting all holy places.

Is Adhyatma Ramayana authentic?

According Sri Karpatri Swamiji, an authority in Ramayana and author of Ramayana Meemasa, Adhyatma Ramayana is authentic. He considers two more versions of Ramayana as authentic - Valmiki Ramayana, and Ananda Ramayana.

In the three-fold bhakti path of Bhagavata, first comes interest in Bhagavan. Then listening to his greatness. This gives rise to limitless love for Bhagavan which is bhakti. Once bhakti comes, jnana and vairagya come naturally as if mother Bhakti has given birth to them.
